The service of LRT Taipa Line was once suspended on 6:30 pm. today (30th) as a train was failed. According to the established emergency mechanism, shuttle buses were arranged by MTR (Macao) for passengers with need. Train service gradually resumed normal at 7:50 p.m.
Around 6:30 pm., a train was failed when approaching the Lotus Checkpoint Station. The train was stranded on the track after staff attempted to reactivate the train. Staff then arranged passengers on the trains to evacuate and one of the wheelchair users had to be evacuated with the help of firefighters. The incident train was successfully restarted and left the track after emergency repairs on 7:50 pm. and the Taipa Line train service was gradually restored to normal.
The cause for the incident is still under investigation and MLM will proceed with a detailed inspection for the incident train units. We apologies to all passengers for any inconvenience caused.
